Do you believe this?   by Gbile Akanni “ I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this? ” John 11:25 NKJV: I Am The Resurrection And The Life “I am the resurrection and the life.” Jesus declared! This is the basis of our expectation. Lazarus’ story only happens to serve us as an illustration. Even if there was no Lazarus, He is still the Resurrection and the Life. He is the life, He is the essence of living. He also is the Resurrection! When you touch Jesus, you have touched the life and you have touched the resurrection and the power that raises a man from deadness. The life that quickens the dead and forestalls every decay. Himself is the resurrection. When He comes in, there must be a resurrection. “He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live…” What an assurance and a definite word! Though he may die, though

THE HEART CONDITION – 4   by Gbile Akanni THE FRUITFUL HEART The last kind of heart condition in this parable is the good ground, which I call the fruitful heart. We shall consider this from Luke’ s account: “And others fell on good ground, and sprang up and bare fruit an hundredfold …  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience” (Luke 8:15 Amp).  Here, we shall look at the various ingredients that make this particular heart fruitful. Let me say from this point, that looking at the good ground, we discover that nothing about it is automatic. No heart was born good. Every fruitful soil was made so by the conscious labour of the farmer. Leave any ground uncultivated, it will grow all manners of thorns. So as we study, there are specific instructions to follow, if your life will be fruitful for God.  Take definite action today and it will be well with

THE HEART CONDITION – 3   by Gbile Akanni The Entangled Heart “ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit” “And these are they which are sown among thorns, such as hear the word, and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful”(Mk.4:7;18-19) Next in the parable is the seed that fell among thorns (which I have chosen to tag “the entangled heart”). This is a very real condition of several hearts in our midst today. This is the kind of person who listens to the Word, gets the truth, gets an understanding and gets a deep insight into the word. He could even have the revelation knowledge of that Word. There is no reason for the word not to affect him; in fact there is no reason for it not to grow. It actually started to grow and to take root. So, the problem of this heart is not that it had no thought or con

THE HEART CONDITION 2 –  The Superficial Heart by Gbile Akanni The Superficial Heart “And some fell on stony ground where it had not much earth, and immediately it sprang up; because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time; afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended “ .( Mk.4:5-6.16-17) In considering this type of heart we need to closely examine the scripture quoted above to know its typical characteristic: “…on stony ground” The first characteristic feature of this kind of heart is that it is ‘on stony ground’. It is hard, rigid and tough. It struggles to maintain its own shape and form. It is pre-cast and inadaptable. It

THE HEART CONDITION   by Gbile Akanni THE heart condition is a basic issue in Christian living. It is for this reason that we want to look at the primary place the condition of your heart occupies in your experience with the LORD Jesus Christ. I believe that God will use His word which He is bringing across your way here to set you on course towards eternity, and to make you useful for God’s kingdom.  ‘And He began to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that He entered into a ship, and sat in the sea: and the whole multitude was by the sea in the land. And he taught them many things by parable, and said unto them in His doctrine. Hearken, Behold, there went out a sower to sow; And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and fowls of the air came and come and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth.
